Warm industrial rustic meets functional entertaining hub

Beautiful moulding, archways, Art Deco details, and other charming peculiarities were hiding in the darkness upon first entering the room, despite outdoor and interior light sources. The client also notes the bottom-heavy feel of the room and coldness caused by thin plaster walls.

The client also notes that the media center feels too open and would like a cleaner area

Dark wall color, coffee table, piano, and tanker desk are requested to be kept by clients.

Measuring under 80 SF of space, this little dining area seats six people; however, guests that visit at a time can surpass this number and require more available seating areas.

Client suggests a wetbar in the empty nook adjacent to the arched entryway.

Floorplan idea with a banquet layout in the dining room

Quick living room perspective:

  • Replace sconces that provide more light; plug-in

  • Lush drapery to accentuate the height of the room and add warmth

  • Unique light fixture to offer more indoor lighting

  • Casters added to coffee table to add height and mobility (ie. Guests may move the coffee table to the side and sit in the center)

  • Source sofa with legs to give appearance of height

Brainstorming custom millwork ideas for wetbar

The legs and casters of the sofa and coffee table, in addition to tall items like drapery and floor lamps, add height to the room. Warmth and height are also exuded through the use of renter-minded plug-in light fixutres.

Folding chairs and an expandable dining table that can seat up to ten people efficiently utilize the space. The folding chairs may also function as hanging art when not in use (see last photo).
